Faebi-HD Rubber Air Spring Isolator with adjustable dampening consists of high grade rubber-metal bonding with reinforced sidewall and a two chamber system. To achieve the greatest possible damping effect the interior of the air spring is divided into two air chambers connected by an air hose (load and damping volumes). An adjustable throttle valve is used to set the cross flow section to the desired damping effect from the outside. The significantly higher damping effect compared to a single chamber system (FAEBI®) reduces the resonance amplification substantially and the machine movements fade noticeably faster. In addition, the increased energy absorption has a positive effect on the quality and wear of the machines and tools.
In comparison to viscous damping, air damping is absolutely free of wear and maintenance-free and the damping factor can be easily adjusted from outside.
Consequently, these FAEBI-HD Rubber Air Springs are perfectly suited for source isolation of High Speed Presses, Forging Hammers, Stamping Presses, Turret Punching Machines, Vibration Welders, Shakers, Engine Dynamometers Test Stands, and other machines and assemblies with highly dynamic disturbance forces. Also provides passive isolation for measuring and testing machines.
The natural frequency of the FAEBI-HD Rubber Air Springs in the vertical direction is between 3 and 14 Hz. The natural frequency is dependent on the static load and the model of the FAEBI-HD Rubber Air Spring. The maximum spring deflection in response to shocks or vibrations is less than 15 mm (9/16″). A Protective Cover can be installed over the top of the air spring if the contact surface on the top of the FAEBI-HD rubber air spring with adjustable dampening is not completely covered by the bottom of the machine.
